Originally from Japan, Aya is a hair and makeup artist with over 11 years of experience and a passion for makeup and hair.

Studied the fundamentals of hair and makeup, corrective makeup for different face shapes, and personal colour analysis at a beauty college. Completed a short-term training program at a makeup school in New York.

​

After graduation, worked as a salon assistant and hair and makeup assistant before starting a freelance career in Tokyo. Obtained a Japanese national beautician license through a correspondence program and gained extensive experience in TV, commercials, music videos, events, and makeup lessons.

​

Worked as a hair and makeup artist for talents, artists, and announcers on news programs, talk shows, variety shows, and music programs.

​

After leaving Japan, started working in bridal hair and makeup.

Aya has worked with diverse clientele in Japan, Germany, New Zealand, and Australia.

​Returned to New Zealand in 2025 and continues to provide bridal and event hair and makeup services.​
